Dr. Wagenaar grew up on a farm in Pincher Creek, AB with a passion for animals and keen interest in veterinary medicine. Her undergraduate studies took place at the University of Calgary, followed by 4 years working in the NWT mining industry.  She returned to school, graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Dr. Wagenaar has 15 years of veterinary experience in large and small animal care, joining the Bear Creek/West County team as a locum in 2016. Dr. Wagenaar’s special interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry, anesthesia, surgery, and emergency medicine.

She lives with her husband on an acreage near Pincher Creek. They share their life with Georgia, a feisty 15 year old Yorkshire Terrier, Beau, a 4 year old Palamino QH, and Chico, a 20 year old Paint Quarter Horse.  They also have a small flock of laying chickens. Outside of work, Dr. Wagenaar enjoys riding and liberty training, hiking, reading, and small construction projects.
